“Chocolate & Wine Week-End”

Salado, TX___The Village of Salado invites you to its third annual “Chocolate & Wine Weekend.” For those who believe the four basic food groups consist of white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and truffles….the “Chocolate & Wine Weekend” is the event not to be missed. The event will take place throughout the Village of Salado. Its nine great events in one fun-filled weekend.
The three-day chocolate week-end promises to satisfy all the senses with chocolate, wine tasting's, music, demonstrations, a gourmet chocolate brunch, chocolate trail throughout the town and Saturday night “Chocolate & Music.”
The weekend kickoff begins on Friday evening with an “Evening of Chocolate & Wine” from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Salado Wine Seller. The “Evening of Chocolate and Wine” will feature the finest in artisan chocolates, and wine tasting's from Texas vineyards. This is a ticketed event for $ 44.95 per person. Start your Saturday off with a “Chocolate for Breakfast? Why not!” with Ken Wilkinson, the creative genius behind Cocoamoda Chocolates from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the Longhorn Room at the Stagecoach Inn. This is a ticketed event for $ 19.95 per person. Tickets must be purchased at www.saladochocolatefestival.com. Two rounds of Wilkinson’s “Truffles & Bubbles” follow from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. This is a ticketed event for $ 19.95 per person per event time. Enjoy “Death By Chocolate Contest” presented by the Friends of the Salado Public Library. This will be held at the Salado Public Library from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Enter your favorite chocolate recipe and you might win! Entries available at the library. A new event this year is “Salado Flowing with Chocolate & Wine” from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express. Please join Jennilee, Head Baker and Pastry Chef from Megg’s Café where you will enjoy a great chocolate and wine pairing. This is a ticketed event for $ 34.95 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.saladochocolatefestival.com.
End your fun-filled Saturday with “Chocolate & Music.” The following events are from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. You may choose from “Brownies & Folk” at the Salado Wine Seller. You may want to rock your way with “Rock & Chocolate Indulgence” at Adelea’s where you will be served a dark chocolate torte with raspberry coulis. These are each ticketed events for $ 9.95 per person and tickets must be purchased through www.saladochocolatefestival.com. A new winery, Rising Star Vineyards, is offering Chocolate truffles, Chocolate covered strawberries with a glass of wine while you listen to music for $ 15.95. This is also a ticketed even and you may purchase tickets at www.saladochocolatefestival.com.
On Sunday, September 25th, “Chocolate & Champagne Brunch” will take place with one seating at 11:00 a.m. Participating restaurants and inns will dazzle guests with their finest chocolate and gourmet recipes.
