The weekend kickoff begins on Friday evening with an Evening of Chocolate & Wine from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Salado Wine Seller. Guests will be invited to savor the taste of premier Texas wines paired with decadent chocolates. The Evening of Chocolate & Wine will feature the finest in artisan chocolates and wine tasting from Texas vineyards. (No free shuttle transportation)

You will be able to create many chocolate creations from creating fudge kist apples in caramel, fudge & nuts, creating ghosts by dipping Nutter Butter Peanut Butter sandwich cookies in vanilla fudge, creating pecan pralines from Penuchi fudge and many more. Enjoy a eight stop "Chocolate Trail" from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. throughout the Village of Salado. Your chocolate trail stops include Salado Wine Seller, Brookshire Brothers, Charlotte's of Salado, Prellop Fine Art Gallery, Side by Side, Salado Creek Winery, Mud Pies Pottery, and Springhouse. Transportation will be provided for this event.

Enjoy " Death by Chocolate Contest" presented by the Friends of the Salado Public Library. This will be held at the Salado Public Library from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Deadline for entry is 1:00 p.m on September 22nd. Enter your favorite chocolate recipe and you might win! The following events are from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. You may choose from "Brownies & Folk" at the Salado Wine Seller where you will be served light hors d'oeuvres and of course brownies! Enjoy Chocolate Truffles and Chocolate covered strawberries with a glass of wine at the Rising Star Vineyards in Salado or you may want to rock your way with "Rock & Chocolate Indulgence" at Adelea's where you will be served chocolate mousse and a glass of champagne as well as the classic rock stylings of our favorite local band. A new one this year is Salado Creek Winery, which will be serving Chocolate & Port tasting with a souvenir glass and of course live music! All four events will start at 7:00 p.m. so choose your favorite!
